As the end of August is fast upon us, I wanted to take a quick moment to welcome everyone back for another great year here at Anaconda School District #10. The staff is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to work with our fine students and excited about the year to come. Our focus this year is to continue to upgrade the safety around the school and continue to improve the educational opportunities offered to our students. We will start with a district-wide culture that focuses on the positives. I am excited to announce that our district will become the first Energy Bus certified district in the state of Montana. What this means is that we will be working beyond what we have in the past to ensure we create the most conducive environment possible for our staff and students in order to maximize their success. This will be the focus of our district-wide PIR meetings and filter into our new advisory periods that have been established across the district. Here at the Anaconda School District #10 we believe that positive relationships are the foundation of better things to come for all students.
We have several new staff in the district this year. Please be sure to introduce yourselves and welcome them to our wonderful community. They are excited to be here, and we are thrilled to have hired such a strong group of paraprofessionals and educators to be a part of our team.
There have been repairs and upgrades throughout the district throughout the summer. The three largest projects are the boiler replacement and the Junior High/High School, Memorial Gymnasium, and the Copper Academy. At some point during the year, I would encourage our community to come and visit these facilities in order to see how the district is diligently working to ensure we continue making school-wide improvements that will benefit our students.
Please remember to check the school website for important meeting dates and pertinent information across the district. We strive to keep this up to date and current for our parents and community members. We always want your input on ways in which we can better serve our stakeholders.
We will have several Family Engagement Nights across the district this year and I would strongly encourage our families and community members to attend if possible. These are amazing venues that are fun and afford families and community members the greatest opportunity to learn about the great things going on in the district and it also is a chance to showcase our wonderful students.
I am looking forward to a terrific year! Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the administrative team if there is ever anything we can do to assist you or help make your child’s experience at school better.
Best Wishes This Year,
Anaconda School Superintendent
