Superintendent's Newletter

Greetings,

As October comes to an end we are also coming to the end of the first quarter of school.  Our new school website will be active as of November 1, 2018.  We are excited to offer a website that will be easy to use and has all the relevant information at your fingertips.  The website will be continuously updated for a month or so but calendars and events will be up to date so you can plan accordingly.

Our building and grounds committee continues to work toward the maintenance and facility needs of the district.  Our next meeting will be Monday, October 29th at 10:30, in the Board Conference Room of the Admin Building if anyone is interested in attending.  At this meeting we will be discussing the covenant restrictions on deeds to some of our buildings, facility projects in progress, and funding for future projects.

In the next couple of weeks parents, students, and community members will be asked to fill out school surveys.  If you have children in different schools, we ask that you feel out the survey for each school.  Our goal is to gauge the culture and climate of each school.  This information is very important as we look to make progress for our students and community in the future.  We need everyone’s help with this.

Finally, I want to thank each of you for your continued support of our district.  We are working hard to make improvements school wide.  We use data to drive these decisions in order that it has the most profound impact on our students.  The question was posed at one of the Coffee Corners, “What does the school do for its community?”  This is a great question.  I believe that we are trying to work with our stakeholders to prepare our students for life beyond high school.  This has many different looks depending on the student, but we want to ensure our kids leave prepared for the workforce, for a trade school, or for college.  It is our job to support their dreams and ambitions.  I believe there are some great ideas in the works to make this an even greater reality in the near future.  Our School Board and staff are dedicated to the success of every student.  While this looks different at each level, our goal remains steadfast.  We are putting young men and women into this community that have something to offer and give back.  It is our hope that our students want to be a positive force in this community and foster its growth in the future.

If you have any questions about the district or things going on please feel free to give me a call at any time.  If you have to leave a message, I promise to get back to you as soon as possible.  My school number is 563-6361 Ex 1621.

Respectfully,

Justin Barnes
