Dear Student, Parent, or Legal Guardian,
Each school district in the state of Montana is required to send the following information to students, parents, and guardians. This information is not from nor specific to the Anaconda School District.
“A Montana Court has authorized distribution of the Class Notice to all students and their parents or legal guardians to inform you of the Settlement Agreement reached between the Montana Office of Public Instruction and the ACLU of Montana to resolve class action litigation.
Please review the Class Notice and settlement agreement. The Class Notice contains information about the litigation, settlement, and any rights or options available to class members. The settlement agreement is [included] so you may review its full terms. If you have questions about the Class Notice or the settlement agreement, please refer to the contact information provided in the Class Notice.”
Because this notice and settlement are not specific to Anaconda School District, questions regarding their content should be directed to the contacts identified in the Class Notice rather than to district or school staff.
Anaconda School District is sharing this information solely to fulfill the statewide distribution requirement. The language and links above were provided to Montana school districts for distribution and were not developed by the Anaconda School District. If you have additional questions regarding this information, I encourage you to contact Alex Rate at ratea@aclumontana.org.
Thank you,
Dr. Rehbein
Superintendent
